Relaxing Sunday

Good Day All! I was feeling good enough to make a few batches of soap this weekend, and have enjoyed my afternoon of cutting, so I thought I'd share.  I've had alot of trouble using my PVC pipe as a mold in the past.  I love the round soap bars but always grew frustrated to the point of fury getting it out of the tube.  Yesterday I tried parchment inside the pipe and it slipped right out with just a gentle pull! So that's the way to do it for sure!  I also tried a few new fragrance oils, both from Sweet Cakes (Bergamot Coriander and Mango Tea). I have yet to be disappointed with anything I've purchased and am extremely impressed with the quality of their oils. A few weeks ago I did "Romance", with WSP's "Romance in Bed" and the swirl turned out very cool - hopefully ready in time for Valentine's Day gifts.  They all smell wonderful, and it feels good to be doing my thing again. "Southern Sweet Tea" "Gulf Stream" ...

Off To a Slow Start

Greetings to all!  My year has indeed gotten off the ground slowly.  Good news, I've just sent out some adorable gift sets for Valentine's Day to my friend Laurie at Shirts and More in Kiowa, KS.  I love doing these and the packaging designs are fun to create.  Bad news (but still good) is that I sold out nearly all my inventory, with the exception of the few Christmas scented bars.  So, inventory and reordering to prepare for 2014.  A minor health setback has me slowed down but I'm looking forward to getting back in my groove, only better than ever!  Today I made 3 batches of new soap with some of the marvelous fragrance oils I've collected recently.  Will cut tomorrow and get some photos out there!

Let the Holidays Begin

It's the start of the Holiday Season!  Here in KC, it has gotten very cold and damp but no snow yet.  Some if my friends have already finished - yes I said finished - their Christmas shopping.  Although I love them, these people are what I would consider somewhat on the crazy side, since I usually finish my shopping and wrapping approximately 24 hours before sundown Christmas Eve at best!  Maybe this year will be different........sigh.  I am definitely feeling the Holiday Cheer coming on so it's all good! I haven't been able to keep up with the photos as I would like to here, but I'm always checking on my friends and followers to see what y'all are up to.  This year I am hosting Thanksgiving and we expect 20-25 folks to come eat in our modest little home. 12 of these are simply our children and their spouses or SO's, which will make this very special for all of us.  I drove a hard bargain on this as installing a new stove and oven was part of my agre...
Getting ready to load my car for a craft event today.  Wow, large quantities of soap bars (and candles) can be super heavy!  And the candles, too - Oh my aching back.... :)
Hey Y'all!  I'm in the process of preparing for two events in November and still have so much to do it seems. I wanted to post these pictures of soap now available - especially since blogger is still not working correctly for text changes.  So here they are: "Zanzibar"  Moonstruck "Gold Rush" These soaps are all well suited for men or women - and celebrate the autumn season that's finally here. Zanzibar - Fo is BB Zanzibar spice - exactly what you would expect - lots of rich decadent spices with warm sandalwood tones.  This was my very first attempt at the "spoon swirl" method.  Moonstruck - FO - Sweetcakes Spiced Plum - again a rich and sexy fragrance with a touch of fruity goodness. Reminds me of a creepy misty moonlight sky, on a perfect Halloween night! Gold Rush - Fo blend - Sweetcakes Ginger Essence and Honey Beeswax.   Love the scent on this one! Yum  I have some more batches curing - will post later.  Tak...
